Week 12 – PLNs and EME 6414
EME 6414 has created a PLNs through the following methods:
· Personalised learning. Students have had the opportunity to choose readings relative to their interests and the opportunity to engage with discussion topics that they relate to. Students have also had the opportunity to engage with assignments in manner that suits them relative to the level of exploration relating to social media platforms and concepts.
· Collaboration. The EME 6414 methodology has driven collaboration through the following methods; weekly discussions, weekly blogging and the opportunity to reflect on one’s weekly engagement through the submission of a weekly Participation Log.
· Flexibility. The subject has provided a high degree of flexibility that has also encouraged informal learning through the following means; opportunities to respond to assignment in different ways, flexibility with regard to weekly discussion topic engagement and the option to engage with optional activities such as Peer Badge activities.
· Multi-platform. EME 6414 has applied multiple platforms to encourage collaboration (i.e. blogs, CANVAS discussions). The subject methodology has also promoted the use of a range of other platforms to encourage engagement through the introduction of weekly tools and activities linked to social media platforms such as Instagram.

ReplyDeleteAs I prepared my final PLN paper I also had to include the people, spaces, and tools that I've had access to in the FSU ISLT program. I like how you've narrowed this down to our course and it reminds about how PLNs are personal, flexible, connect people, and use different tools and platforms.
